While St. Stephen the Protomartyr appears relatively prominently on medieval Serbian coinage - specifically, on the early "matapano" style dinars (taking there the place of St. Mark from the Venetian model), as the patron of the Nemanjic dynasty that nobleman Vuk was succeeding - the present representation, appearing alone as archdeacon with a censer - is a rare occurrence essentially for any coinage.
