The moneyer that struck this coin, as evidenced by the reverse monogram, was Decimus Turullius, who is famous for having taken part in the assassination of Julius Caesar. In a display of shifting allegiances typical of that (and many other a) day, he went over to Antony following the defeat of Brutus and Caesar's assassins at Phillipi in 42 BC, only to be surrendered by his ally to Octavian in the aftermath of the battle of Actium, a mere few months after this coin was minted.
