Nice early portait of this able late emperor. His feats include a combination of diplomatic and military actions that pacified the eastern frontier, the elimination of western usurpers, and the unification of the Empire under a single ruler for one final time. However, the legacy of emperor Theodosius is mostly marked by is his fanatically pro-Christian legislation, which included persecution of pagans and the abolition, after more than a millenial existence, of the classical Olympic Games (391 AD).
