Despite extensive corrosion damage, considerable features of Pius' portrait remain, and the reverse temple is virtually unaffected, with somedetail and nicely highlighted. The type commemorates the completion of a temple dedicated to Roma in 141 AD, whose construction commenced under Hadrian.
