Greek imperial coinage from Maroneia is scarce - as opposed to earlier Greek autonomous issues, as well as colonial output in many neighboring cities throught Roman Thrace. However, a handful of emperors did strike coins there - though typically no more than a single type or two; the characteristic capricorn bronze is apparently the only recorded Hadrian type for this locale.
