Following its capture by Lucanians right after 400 BC, the city's name got corrupted to Paestum, though it retained a degree of its Poseidonian cult, as evidenced on this, the first bronze issue under the new rulers and city name. Encrusted but bold reverse, with a favorite and rather uncommon mythological scene.
