Rare and interesting type, unpublished in many major references; the very reverse theme is unusual to begin with. The Frank book on Asia Minor of the Roman era does have one specimen, also from Ephesos, with a similar rendition. However, the legend there reads differently (EFESION PROTON ASI/AS), and the depiction has the goddess less slender, seated differently and looking backwards, and finally, was issued about 20 years earlier, under Macrinus.
