Herculean bravery was perhaps the implication on the reverse of this "BRIT" piece, issued during and immediately after the British campaign of 210-2 AD, in which his father Septimius passed away peacefully. But it did certainly not end up meaning Herculean valor, as Caracalla's fratricide and other crimes and excesses quickly led to popular discontent, and eventually to his assassination a mere few years later.
