A scarce and attractive large bronze from the later Roman period, with a decent portrait of the great conqueror, who's appearance here is probably as much a nominal homage paid to the celebrated king's birthplace province as it is a suggestive device of wishful 3rd century Roman emperors. Rare and interesting reverse for these series. |
