Interesting for the partly retrograde rev. legend and dotted lines on obv. that do not match the most published specimens. Generally, Rhoemetalkes was apparently a good ruler, and a loyal ally of Augustus and Rome (rather obvious on numerous "colonial" issues of his coinage). As in many other cases, however, when his death was followed by internal dissent for some time, Rome did away with native monarchs and turned Thrace into a province of the empire.
